How to write a letter to the editor-
Look at these talking points before writing!
Talking Points 1
Talking Points 2

Writing good letters to the editor is neither time consuming nor difficult. A letter to the Western Front in the Hutchinson News, the Ninnescah Valley News, the Mount Hope Clarion, or the Record will be seen by lots of friends and neighbors. No other form of communication can match the impact of a thoughtful letter written by a concerned citizen. Some hints:

- Use your own writing style and voice. Your letter should reflect you. Use language with which you are comfortable and write as simply and directly as possible.
- Identify the point or points (one or two) that you want to make.
- If necessary, research the issue to understand it better and to collect information to use in your letter.
- Use brief paragraphs and short sentences. You want your letter to be easy to read and understand as well as convincing and forceful. Keep your letter to around 250 words.
